Faith By Hearing

Voice of God vs. Voice of the Enemy (the Devil)

It’s so important to know whose voice we are listening to. There are three main voices that we hear: 1-) God’s, 2-) the devil’s and 3-) our own.

Everything around you gets louder when you don’t have quiet time with the Lord. Make sure you spend time in His Word and His Presence. Brainwash yourself in His Word of Truth.

How Do You Hear from God?

If you belong to the Lord, you hear God’s voice! His sheep know His voice, and you have access to it at any time. You just need to quiet yourself, remove the distractions, and fix your heart and eyes on the Lord. He will speak to you.

Who Are You Listening to?

You have faith in whatever you listen to over and over again. Analyze your beliefs right now. What are you believing about yourself, your personality, and your destiny? Are you believing God’s Truth or the devil’s lies?

Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

Train Your Spiritual Ears

You need to learn what is from God and what is not from God. The Spirit of Truth, Holy Spirit, will bear witness to you when what you hear is from God.

Negative Words vs. Flattery

What we hear may not always be obviously from the devil. Some things come across as flattery; use discernment. Don’t accept words or comments that puff up your pride.

People who are desperate for your attention and constantly seek your time are usually demonic. They flatter you through words like, “I need you,” and that is not of God. Don’t let this behavior make you believe this lie. We all need God first and foremost. These people put you on a pedestal, steal your time, your energy, and your dependence on God.

Hearing God’s Rebuke / Correction

You may hear things from God that you don’t want to hear, like rebuke or exposure of something that is not of Him in you. You may not be prepared to hear these things, but they are good for you. They are meant to correct you, to sanctify you, and make you more like Christ. Take these to prayer and wait on God’s touch.

Always remember that God blesses those who are humble. The more humble you are, the more clearly you will hear the voice of God. Put down pride every day!

Your God-Given Identity

  • You are a Worshipper of God! You have been called to worship Him at all times.

  • You are called to Fellowship with God! There’s no “friendship” in Christ. Fellowship means Holy Spirit is in the middle.

Pray this Prayer Today:

Lord Jesus, I humbly lay myself down at your feet. I worship you and magnify you, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Holy Spirit of Truth, I invite you to come and do whatever you need to do in me. Come and have your way.

I put myself under your authority, Lord Jesus. I repent and renounce any agreements I made with lies that I spoke over myself or that were spoken over me. I believe that you are the Son of God and I believe that by your blood I am set free!

Lord, help me to quiet my soul and mind so that I can hear from you clearly. Expose the lies I’m believing and cleanse me of them from this day forward in Jesus’ mighty name. Give me stronger desire to seek Your Truth in Your Word daily. Amen.
