Moving in the Prophetic

Prophecy refers to hearing God and releasing that word to others. Prophecy can be given by someone who is considered a prophet, but also by any believer who operates in the gift of prophecy. Prophecy reveals God’s heart, it is not foretelling the future. There are prophetic words that are spoken that God has determined will come to pass, but many times prophecy is declaring God’s heart so that agreement can come with the spoken word in order to cause a manifestation.

There are many reasons that God desires to release His voice on the earth. In Jeremiah 1, God tells Jeremiah, “because everywhere I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, to uproot and break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” God speaks in order to uproot and breakdown strongholds of the enemy, to destroy and overthrow evil plans, and to cause a building up of His truths in the lives of people, cities and nations.

The prophetic voice carries the authority of God to reveal and declare His will. Under the unction of Holy Spirit, the prophetic voice will declare the word of God given as a rhema word from the Bible, an impression or even a dream. The prophetic gift is one that enables people to sense a message spoken by the Spirit to the spirit of man. God will direct the word to be released to a group or an individual. Once the word is released, agreement with those on earth will cause the creative power of the word of the Lord to begin to manifest. As long as agreement remains, the word will become reality.

What a privilege it is to know that God speaks, even now, to His creation. Acts 2:17-18 God says, “And it shall be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out My spirit upon all mankind; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my bond-servants, both men and women, I will in those days pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.” As we align with the Spirit of God, He promises to pour Himself out upon us and speak to us. The more we hunger for His voice, the more we will welcome Him to speak. Ask Him to speak to you!
