“How do you see God? The way you see, understand, and know God is so important. Your prayers, relationships, identity, faith, everything flows from who God is to you.
It’s easy to put God in a box, to put limits on Him subconsciously. You may only be bringing God into your life when you are in need, even just small needs. But how often do we forget that He’s more than capable when the cancer spreads, or a marriage is on the rocks, when you’re going through a financial struggle, or mother nature plays her course and devastates an entire city?
I remember doing a missions trip in Mexico, and running into a homeless man. This man had a giant wound on his leg and was limping, he hardly could walk. I felt like my team and I should pray for Him. We prayed and then asked how his pain was, He said it was still so bad.
We ended up praying three more times, because we knew and believed that God could heal him. God did heal His beloved son! The man was dancing on the street without any pain! God answered our prayers!
I’ve seen God cancel financial debts, heal the blind, multiply food, restore broken hearts, and so much more! The God who was working miracles in the Bible is the same God who worked those miracles right before my eyes.
He is working miracles all over the world right now. Sometimes we paint our own image of who we think God is, causing us to miss out on the real God who makes withered bones whole again, restores sight to the blind and sound to the deaf. We read about miracles in the Bible and think that’s where they belong. But those miracles live in you and me because we serve a mighty God!
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you! And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. (Romans 8:11)
He became like you so that you could be like Him! He took away your hardened heart and gave you a new heart, fashioned out of His image. Then He filled you with the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, so that every decaying area of your life could be renewed and redeemed.
Are you ready to take God out of the box? Pick up your cross and stand amazed as He works in and through you in mighty ways!”
