What are you putting your trust in?
Everyone trusts in something; it’s important to know what that something or someone is. What we put our trust in becomes our idol, and we tend to reflect that thing or person in time.
We can even put our trust in good things like our marriages, our families, relationships, or even the church, but they still become idols. My whole life I had to learn that putting your trust in everything else but God will never result in a positive way.
We do it all the time with our careers, social media, relationships, and even money. We act as if those created things give us meaning in life. And when we do that, we’re just setting ourselves up for failure. The Bible says, “The poor, deluded fool trusts something that can’t help him at all. Yet he cannot bring himself to ask: ‘Is this idol that I’m holding in my hand a lie?’” (Isaiah 44:20)
