Let’s Use Our Weapons

The weapons we fight with may not be physical guns, swords, or bombs, but through the mighty power of God, they are Weapons of Mass Destruction and Deliverance.

The Word of God is our Spiritual sword in Ephesians 6:17. It is quick, powerful, and sharper than any other sword. God’s Word can be life and healing to you or destruction to every demonic power that resists you.

Prayer is your command station. Its where you receive Heaven’s agenda and instruction. God wants to reveal secrets and strategies that are vital to you experiencing victory. However, how can you receive them if you are not in communication with him? When you pray, God can send reinforcements. Elisha prayed in 2 Kings 6:18 and God struck an entire army with physical blindness. What will God not do for you when you pray?

Praise might be sweet sound that pleases the ears of our God, but it is also the battle cry that sends fear and confusion to our enemies. King Jehoshaphat appointed singers to go before his army into battle in 2 Chronicles 20. By the time they got to the battle ground, all of their enemies had turned on each other and not one was left alive. When we focus our attention of the goodness of God like Jehoshaphat’s army, and recognize that He is so merciful and loving to us, we leave room for God to work wonders and miracles on our behalf. Just imagine what God what do for you if you spent more time praising instead of panicking.

Worship is the discipline that develops our strength. It is complete submission to the supreme and sovereign command of our God and King. The more we surrender our will to His in our daily living, the more He will publicly reward and award us with the treasures of His heart.

Thanksgiving affects both our relationship with God and the relationships with one another. When we give thanks to each other, it motivates us to do more for one another. The more you Thank God, the more joy and contentment fills your heart, as anxiety leaves! The more you magnify God with thanks and gratitude, the more He favor He bestows!

The Blood of Jesus has purchased our victory and guaranteed God’s protection. It is the seal of God’s peace treaty and alliance with you and I. Hallelujah! It is the Banner of Righteousness that should go before us into every battle. It lifts the hand of death and destruction from our families. O how your enemies tremble at the name of Jesus! Much more, when they see that bloody seal, they know that their attacks and their weapons cannot prosper! To fight against the blood of Jesus is a senseless, foolish mission of the Enemy.

LET’S USE OUR WEAPONS!

Why the Enemy Will Lose with God on Your Side

Why the Enemy Will Lose with God on Your Side

Through Him we are made CHAMPIONS! Jesus is a champion, a conqueror. He has victory over sin, He conquered death, hell and the grave. He is a champion for our salvation.

The enemy targets you in the areas you have the most calling! As a champion through Christ you can prevail in these areas and start walking in your destiny. God empowers us everyday to even greater victories because He gave us the heart of a champion. “For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

With the heart of a champion we are called to rise above. Our confidence is born in faith; there is no longer room for fear. We have to confront our fears and seek freedom. By renewing your mind, you are given insight into right and wrong, given a deeper meaning of God’s character and how He operates, and given strength to become more like Him even when faced with great adversity.

It takes great humility to be a champion! You have to die to self daily. We have to take up our cross, deny our former ways, and walk in newness of life through Christ who lives in us. Surrendered to Him with His Champion Heart, we are infused with the strength, discipline, resilience, determination and commitment needed to have victory over the enemy!

“But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.” Romans 6:17-18

“When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:20-23

Pray this prayer today: Dear Father, I thank You for the sacrifice you made for me and for conquering death, hell, and the grave.  Thank you for empowering me by placing Your champion heart and spirit within me.  Help me to walk in my full potential in You to have victory over the enemy that wants to steal my destiny.  Help me to rise above in confidence born in faith and grant me humility to take up my cross and walk in newness of life surrendered completely to You.  Amen.

Releasing the Power of God

God has mandated that we walk in the power and authority that He gave us when we became His ambassadors in Christ.  Genesis describes how God created man in His image, and tasked him with stewarding the earth realm. Genesis 1:28 says, “God blessed them and told them, ‘Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.’” When Jesus paid the price for our freedom from sin and death, He charged us to continue His work on the earth. Matthew 10:1 describes this charge. “Jesus called His twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness.” Jesus gave believers a mandate to continue to establish His kingdom here on earth, and He gave us His authority to do so.

How do we come into agreement with this mandate? We must become a conduit of the power of God through Holy Spirit. Paul spoke about this in Romans 15. “I have won them over by the miracles done through me as signs from God- all by the power of God’s Spirit.” Paul was able to convince the gentiles of the Good News of Jesus Christ by the signs and wonders that followed him.

Read, pray and declare scriptures in Isik’s Prayer Guide!

Jesus began to speak of this mandate before He went to the cross. He spoke over His disciples, releasing His authority to them. We see this in Luke 9:1. “One day, Jesus called together His twelve apostles and gave them power and authority to cast out demons and to heal all diseases. Then He sent them out to tell everyone about the coming of the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” Matthew 10:8 said, “heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received.”  It is clear that Jesus’ power did not cease when He returned to heaven, but He gave the command to continue the work that He began and equipped us with His authority and power to do so.

As believers in Jesus Christ, we can access all that He paid for us to walk in. As we extend our faith, we can connect with the power of God to see deliverance, healing and miracles. In Ephesians 1:19, Paul urges us to embrace this truth. “I pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe him. This is the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.” This is resurrection power! As we believe, it will be done according to His word. In Mark 16:20, we see that the disciples believed Jesus and began to fulfill His mandate. “And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.” It is God’s plan that we walk in His power and authority and bring His kingdom to manifest on earth as it is in heaven.

The Power of Self Control

Self-control is a fruit of the spirit talked about in the Bible. Self-control refers to the ability to govern one’s own actions, words, and decisions. Being able to choose wisdom over wants or desires shows self-discipline and maturity. Proverbs 25:28 says that a man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. Having no walls leaves a city unprotected and defenseless. A life without self-control is one that invites potential trouble or difficulties.

How does one get more self-control? One way is to set long-term goals. Once we can see a long-term goal, the small temptations do not seem to have the same strength as they did without a goal. 1 Corinthians 9:25 says, “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but to get a crown that will last forever.”

Another way to develop self-control is to do everything as unto the Lord. Knowing that what we choose will be pleasing to God will give us inner strength to do the right thing. Romans 12:1 say, “Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your true and proper worship.”

Choosing to set our minds on noble and pure things can help us focus on the bigger picture. Philippians 4:8 reminds us to think about whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy. Refusing to dwell on negative things can help us keep our focus.

As we yield ourselves to the Spirit of God, we open ourselves up to the power of God. In 1 Corinthians 2:5 Paul says, “my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.” We need the power of God to overcome temptation, battles, and distractions.

The Bible commands us to walk in the power of God. Ephesians 6:10 says “finally be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” We cannot walk in the power of God and not have self-control. They go hand in hand. Living a victorious life means that we live surrendered to God, choosing to be self-controlled, and living in His power. Only then will we overcome.

Deep Waters

By Keiko Chibana-Shinn | Rediscovering Prayer

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called… 2 Timothy 4:7

Every day we have a choice to make. We can either choose to accept You or deny You, to welcome You in or reject You for the day ahead. God, our Father gives extraordinary gifts to His children. Every good and perfect gift comes from above; from whom the heavenly lights flow into our lives.

There is a battle between two kingdoms: the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. Sometimes the battle is external, sometimes it’s internal, and many times it’s both waging against our hope. Thankfully, we can be reminded that Jesus made a mockery of the effects of sin, doubt, and pride on the cross. Jesus equips us and trains us for every uncertainty that may entangle us into confusion and isolation. It’s time to fight with the power of His might rather than by human strength and reasoning. For His authority is unparalleled to any other in all of time and history.

Jesus fights for you. It’s a good fight because you can hold your peace alongside Him. Jesus has not only won your battle but has the victory over death and every kind of loss. He ripped the devil to shreds when He took upon himself your illness of body, mind, and spirit; all the effects of sin swallowed up by the Light of Life. He fought until the end of His life to gain yours. Now you are free and armed to live in determination to persevere with resurrection power working for you by the Lord’s Spirit.

The Word of God says we are to continually demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we are to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (2 Cor. 10:5).

You have the power to choose life or death. Choose to step into your today with a Jesus-perspective. Let us ask Jesus to have His way whether we find ourselves stuck in cyclical patterns of defeatism manifesting in depression, fear, and a divided heart. Fight the good fight and be not weary in well-doing for the recompense is joy in His Spirit. All the days of your life have been ordained by the Maker and Lover of your soul. He spared no cost to Himself to see you raised into an abundant life according to the promise of the life that is in Christ Jesus.

You may feel stumped in the waiting but God is building your character to attain self-control and a sound mind. You may find yourself internally struggling from anxious striving but God is asking you to trust in Him beyond the weight of your worries so that you may rest in Him like never before. You may feel limited in your own means but God is sparing you from further heartbreak. It’s your moment to call upon Him. Wait on Him to recenter you. Be still and know He is God. Jesus is working behind the scenes to bring about the best outcome for the testimony of His appearance to overflow in your breakthroughs that will eventually pour into the generations to come.

Although Jesus maintains the victory it is up to us to take Him at His Word and believe in season and out of season. We were once darkness so the enemy’s intent is to keep parts of your heart and mind in that darkness. But we are now light in the Lord so let us walk as children of light. Press in and trust God to sustain you even when you can’t perceive Him near you. Believe Him to be with you in every step you take, declare and decree God’s promises to be “yes” and “amen”. Weeping may last for the night but His favor lasts a lifetime.

The Lord says to us: Go deeper and further into My Kingdom. Discover the potency of my eternal joy, peace, and righteousness. Advance forcefully into Who I am. Don’t surrender to anything less than what my Spirit reveals. Receive my Kingdom mandate to follow Me and I will increase in and through you. I am your deliverer from the deep waters, your healer, your source of life. Do not slumber in dissatisfaction and in lack for I came to remove the chains to supply you with everything you need for life. My love for you is so great that you cannot conceive the things I have prepared for you, who love Me. Pursue Me with all your heart and you will be found by Me, for my grace is more than sufficient for the journey ahead of you. I take hold of you. Arm yourself under the shelter of my wings today.

The Key to Surviving a Storm: Peace

Storms are part of life.  Everyone faces storms, there is no escaping that fact. Some storms can feel overwhelming and we may wonder how we make it. Storms can make us wonder if we will survive.

The disciples faced a storm that made them wonder if they would survive. Luke 8:22 describes the storm’s intensity that rocked their faith, despite the fact that Jesus was in the boat with them. As they began to cross the lake, the storm began to rage and the boat began to fill up with water. The disciples feared for their lives. Jesus had been sleeping, but the disciples woke Him up. They cried out, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Jesus arose and rebuked the wind and raging water. The storm ceased, and the weather began to calm.  Jesus then turned to the disciples and asked, “where is your faith?” The disciples were amazed. How could this man command the wind and waves?

A storm can be a literal storm, or it can be a difficulty in life. It can be a sickness, trauma, abuse, or even an attack from those we love. As the storm begins to rage around us, it may feel like we are losing hope. As we begin to focus on the waves and the wind, we forget that Jesus is in the boat with us. But maintaining our focus is key.

The secret to peace in the midst of a storm is preparing our lives before the storm arrives. Just as the disciples did, we too can walk with Jesus, learning about His nature and His character. We can cultivate such a relationship with Him that we learn to trust Him fully. As we surrender ourselves to His Lordship, we can rest in Him, knowing that He is for us and not against us. He is a good and loving God. He already paid a high price for us, why would He not help us navigate the storms of life?

It’s true, storms will come in life. It may try to rock our foundation. But it is possible to have peace in the middle of the storm. Jesus is our peace. He is our strong tower. As we abide in Him, we can abide in peace.

Parents, You Are Not Alone!

Remember back to the very first time you held your baby?  If your experience was similar to mine, you were in awe of God’s unique and beautiful creation.  Your heart was full of love and your mind was filled with hopes and dreams for your little one.  As new parents, we looked forward to developing a relationship with our child that would bring joy to us for years to come.

We soon discovered, as our child grew and developed, that there were many challenges in parenting.  Our child was no longer a helpless infant, dependent upon us for everything, but a child who was persistent in exerting his/her independence. We began to understand the immense responsibility we have as parents, and this realization sometimes becomes overwhelming.

I believe everyone will agree that parenting is hard work. It’s a 24-hour a day, 7-day a week job. There is no downtime. As parents, we have about 18 years to prepare our child for independent living in an increasingly difficult and dangerous world. Our child’s success depends a lot on our abilities as parents. It’s not just enough to love our child, although this is critical. We must also have skills to effectively guide our child.

Parenting can be a “rocky road.” It’s a journey of faith, because we don’t know the end results. God has given us a small window of opportunity to love and teach our child how to navigate successfully in this world. We need wisdom for this journey and God says that He will provide wisdom generously, if we ask.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5, NIV)

It’s also comforting to know that we are not alone in this journey.

God promises, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.  (Psalm 32:8 NLT)

God desires to partner with us.  He loves families!  The family unit was God’s idea from the very beginning.  He wants you to be successful!

I pray that your family will be a testimony to others about the greatness of God.

Supernatural Protection of God

God has given us promises in His word about supernatural protection. As we apply His word to our lives, we cooperate and agree with these promises.

Even though we read all of the promises of God, sometimes we may doubt because we can see the opposite happening in the world, just by listening to the news or social media. Yet His word is clear about the supernatural protection available to us, but as with all of the promises of God, it requires us to participate to see these promises manifest. The greatest way we can do this is to believe and have faith. Faith is the vehicle that gives us access to His promises.

One of the greatest chapters to stand on for supernatural protection is Psalm 91. The first few scriptures of Psalm 91 say, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High God will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him will I trust.’ Surely, He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge.” This passage shows us that as we draw close to God and stay in a place of intimacy with Him, we are under His protection. In verse 4 it says “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge.”

King David had many opportunities to fear for his life. When he was a shepherd, he had to protect the sheep from the wild animals that would try to kill them. When he played for King Saul, he was in constant danger of Saul’s demonic rages. David eventually fled for his life as Saul searched for him to kill him. Yet in all of this, David expresses the goodness of God in caring for him in Psalm 23. David writes, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me besides still waters he restores my soul.” And in verses 4 and 5, “yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” David had confidence in the protection of his God, even in the midst of unlikely circumstances.

God speaks a wonderful promise to us in Isaiah 54:17. Here He declares, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgement you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord.” You can see that God made every provision for us to walk in divine protection. It is our heritage if we belong to God through Jesus Christ. As we lean into His presence and abide with Him, He will be our covering. We can rest as David did by still waters in green pastures, and we can also declare that because of our heritage, no weapon will find its mark in us. These are the promises that He has given us. Let us lay hold of them and walk in His protection.

Revelation of God

Many people say that they know God. Some may know of God. But who can truly know God, except that He reveal Himself to us?

Revelation can be described as an unveiling. In 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord- who is Spirit- makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.” As God removes the veil from our eyes or understanding, we will be able to see Him by the spirit and come to know Him in a greater way.

God desires to reveal himself to us, yet we can cause a separation from God by our sin. Living a sinful life will cause our hearts to become hardened so we struggle to hear God. We must acknowledge our sin and repent so that we can hear God more clearly. 1 John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse us. He will not keep us away when we come to Him with a contrite heart.

God’s word can reveal God to us. John 1:14 tells us that the Word of God became flesh and dwelled among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” As we learn His word, we will learn about Jesus.

Holy Spirit will reveal God to us also. John 16:13 says, “But when He, the Spirit of truth comes He will guide you into all truth.” He will teach us about God and His Kingdom. In 1 Corinthians 2:10, it says, “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches out all things, yes the deep things of God.” Holy Spirit is with us always. We can ask Him to show us those deep things.

As we seek God, He promises to let us find Him. In fact, it is He that puts the desire to know Him inside of our hearts. As we connect with Him by faith, He is sure to answer our heart’s cry to know Him more.

Sacred

By Keiko Chibana-Shinn | Rediscovering Prayer

We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Cor. 3:17-18

Jesus calls us into holistic transformation. The ministry of Jesus lives and breathes to restore us into new beginnings, a new life for today. The work He does in and through us is not half-heartedly done. It’s a finished work. We can walk in the power of His strength to demonstrate a living faith that can come against every scheme of evil intention and strife.

The devil loves to downplay your identity. We are told a great lie from early on. We are told through our families, media, and social influences that we are nothing more than a product of human design. From every side there is a message being whispered, eventually resounding in our ears saying, Did God really say…? (Gen. 3:1). All diabolical atrocities in humanity’s history are marked by the degradation of the sacredness of mankind. The devil seeks to steal, kill, and destroy the eternal value you possess. But there is so much more to us than meets the eye.

We are all made in the image of God. Therefore we are a sign of divine power, a miracle fashioned in the mind of Christ before the foundations of the earth. He set your appointed time in history that you may seek Him and find Him in your need. From one man He made all the nations so that the Family of God would grow and prosper in His creative order. Jesus Himself gives us His life in exchange for our brokenness. The old has passed, behold the new has come.

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. John 3:8

It takes a Spirit-filled heart to manifest God’s great mercy and loving kindness to express compassion upon the undeserving, for we all have fallen short of the glory of God and in need of inner healing and deliverance. As we continually position ourselves to be filled with His Spirit, we can then effectively impart His faithful love to a broken world.

When we fail to see God in each other we have the adverse potential to create cracks in our identity, individually and collectively. Infliction caused by continual assaults, insults, and invalidations imposed by prejudices and faulty judgments embodies the self-serving and prideful yearnings that only strengthen the influence of demonic forces. Let us not accumulate detrimental entry points for the devil to take possession of what is not his. Consequences of injustice leave people with deep soul wounds that cannot be healed by human intervention alone. Anger, disillusionment, and abuses of every kind left untreated can starve the child-like faith that is meant to take you from glory to glory. But Jesus stands at the door of our hearts.

A respected and renowned pastor for the nations defines the term communion in its simplest form. Communion means common-union. The Lord yearns for you to talk with Him because it’s His heartbeat for you to know you have common-union or commonality with God. Communion then embodies evidence of intimacy and quality relationship with God. It’s in that place of communion one discovers the rich commonality with the Godhead- the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You and I are family with the triune God. We are continually being awakened by the revelation that as sons and daughters we are more like God than we ever thought or imagined.

Let us take our rightful place in the Kingdom of God. We are a Holy people, redeemed of the Lord. He delights in who we are but God does not condition His love by mere appearances, not by the color of your skin, your age, your gender, your skills, or your bank account. We were once found hiding in fear, running from our past and wandering upon bitter-stricken roads but God restores our identity, transforms us into the Sought Out ones, a City not forsaken. We carry the ministry of reconciliation because we ourselves have been reconciled as sacred in the eyes of a loving God.

He says to us today: Receive My Spirit today. Welcome Me in today. The same power that lifted Me up from the grave is the same power that lives in you, who believe. Acknowledge the potency and purpose of My Spirit. Let me tear down the veils of deceit. For where my Spirit is, there is freedom. I make you one with Me and one with each other. Let my Spirit guide you in unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light before you and rough places into level ground. I promise to deliver you and I will continue to deliver you to the very end. These things I will do for you. Align your spirit to Mine today.

What is the Glory of God?

What does the Bible tell us about the Glory of God? How can we describe the glory? The Glory of God is sometimes described as His manifest presence. His glory is overwhelming, containing the holiness, power and the brilliance and radiance of God.

David wrote about the glory in the Psalms. Psalm 19:1 tells us that the heavens declare the glory of God. Psalm 63:2 says, “Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, to see Your Power and Your glory.” Isaiah 60:1-2 says, “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples. But the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you.” This tells us that His glory can been seen, or perceived in the earth realm. Isaiah 6:3 tells us, “And one called out to another and said, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory.” Habakkuk 2:14 says, “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”  We cannot read these scriptures and not realize that God’s glory was made to manifest around us. But how do we know when we have encountered the glory of God?

Moses led the Israelites by following the cloud of God’s glory. It would rest on the mountaintops and fill the tabernacle. In Exodus 40:35, scripture tells us that Moses was unable to even enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the glory cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. In Exodus 24, the sight of the glory appeared as a consuming fire on top of the mountain. As Moses met with God on the mountain, his face began to radiate the glory of God. Exodus 34:29-35 tells us that after he came down from the mountain, he had to cover his face because the radiance that came from his face made the people afraid.

The glory of God is brilliant and evident to all. It cannot be hidden or disguised. Revelation 21:11 says “having the glory of God, her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper.”

The glory of God will change the very atmosphere and change everything in it that He desires. We may not be able to see the glory with our natural eyes, but once the glory comes, we cannot deny that God has been with us. His glory is unmistakable.
