When we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ, a transformation occurs. The Bible says that we
become a new creation. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, it tells us “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the
new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.” God makes us come alive in a new
way, making our identities align with His blueprint for our lives.
In Christ, I have a new mind. 1 Corinthians 2:16 says, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” This means we have unlimited access to His thoughts and His ways. All we have to do is yield to His leading.
In Christ, I have become righteous. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” We are free to
approach God without fear of condemnation or shame because we now are righteous. The
blood of Jesus and the finished work of the cross made us righteous, as we place our faith in
Him, according to Romans 4:5.
In Christ, I am set apart to fulfill His call on my life. Ephesians 2:10 tell us, “For we are His
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” We were created to be world changers.
In Christ, I have access to a heavenly inheritance. Romans 8:17 tell us that we have become a
joint heir with Christ. We are heirs of His glory.
In Christ, I am the head and not the tail. This means that I am not a victim. As I walk in
obedience with God, He will cause me to always rise to the top. Deuteronomy 28:13 says
“The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of
the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.”
In Christ, I am more than a conqueror. I am an overcomer. Romans 8:37 says, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” If we are more than
conquerors, than nothing can defeat us. As long as we do not give up, we can expect to win!
The word of God is clear. We were never meant to live defeated. Our identity in Christ means
every assignment of the enemy is destined to fail. We must stand on the word of God and not
be moved, and we will see the victory!
