How powerful is God?

The Bible tells us that there is no one like God. No one can compare to our God. He is love and yet He is full of power.

God’s power created the whole earth. Jeremiah 10:12-13 says, “But God made the earth by His power, and he preserves it by his wisdom. With his own understanding, he stretched out the heavens. When he speaks in the thunder, the heavens roar with rain. He causes the clouds to rise over the earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses.” He has the power to not only create the earth realm, but to orchestrate the winds and the rains on it.

God’s power is supernatural. It defies the natural and makes the impossible, possible. Matthew 14:13-21 tells the story of Jesus feeding the crowd of 5000 people. The only food that was found was from a young boy who had five loaves and two fish for his lunch. The power of God made one lunch feed thousands of people. To the natural eye, it was impossible. But Jesus accessed heaven and changed the lack into abundance.

God’s power is creative. When Mary was told by the angel that she would carry the baby Jesus, she wondered how it would happen. But the angel told her that Holy Spirit would come upon her and a child would be conceived. Luke 1:26-38 tells us this story. In verse 34 it says, “Mary said to the angel, how will this happen? I have never had a man. The angel said to her, “the Holy Spirit will come on you. The power of the Most High will cover you. The holy Child you give birth to will be called the Son of God.” This power created a baby inside Mary, and this child would save the world.

The Bible tells us that we have access to God’s power. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power, love, and self-discipline.” Ephesians 3:20 tells us, “Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more that we might ask or think.”

Having access to the power of God means that there are truly no limits to what we can do as we partner with God. Nothing is impossible with God. Every circumstance is subject to the power and authority of God. Belonging to God means that we can call upon the power of God to align everything with the will of God and see the miraculous happen!
